  2. i AGREE PORTLAND MISSES YOU A TON, VERY SAD TO SEE YOU GO

  3. You were my favorite player in Portland. You even came to my school with James Jones and gave away bikes to children at Christmas time!
I have now moved to Arizona and I am so glad you moved here as well. I am now a season ticket holder of the Suns and I look forward to continuing to watch you play!

  4. Channing welcome back to Portland hope you have a great game.

  5. It was great to have you back in Portland tonight Channing. Wish you were in a Blazer uniform though. Thanks for shaking my hand tonight.. While you were warming up…..I called you over and showed I had on your C Frye 44 T-shirt. It was a pleasure to have shaken your hand. The best of luck with the Suns.
Portland misses you but glad you are happy back in your own home town.
    Have a great year.

  6. Hi Channing,
Long time since I seen you in AZ buddy! Glad to have you back in the sunshine again!!! Handle bizzness this season, I see that shot and your range has definitely improved! Hard work pays off!!!
I am a ball player and business man, as I can see, you are to. I have a lot to offer the children in Sierra Vista, AZ, but we could use a lot more help. Please respond….perfectfundamentals@yahoo.com Coach KT Broady Sr.

  7. Channing,
We all miss you in Portland! It was great to see you play wednesday. Take care and I wish you the best in Phoenix. I will be there in January and hope to catch one of your games!

  8. Though I’m a huge fan of both you and the Blazers, I’m happy you got traded because

    1. Robin Lopez is out which means you will get mad playing time to show off your ridiculous jump shot
    2. You’re playing Center, your primary position, instead of the 4.

    Have fun Frye.

  9. I drafted you for my fantasy team! I’m stoked to see you turn some heads down there and get me some good numbers…P-Town misses you…come by a kickball game next summer!

  10. Wow incredible shooting last night. Great game. I’m glad Steve pulled the trigger and brought you in Channing, your a great fit for their style of play. Lots of love from the Baby Savannah Organization

  11. Hey Channing, glad you’re off to a great start in Phoenix! We still love you up here in Portland!

  12. Channing…I’ve been following you in Phoenix, and I have to say keep up the good work. Portland misses you. The ovation you got during the starting lineups at the throwback game was a testimate to that.

  13. Channing, you were awesome last night! This is just the beginning of a great season for you. I also have you in my fantasy team. You are now one of my favorite players and I am totally “Fryed” for you!

  14. Channing- You’re missed in Portland! I am just gearin’ up to go to the Blazer game tonight, and wish we still had you on the team! I love that you were so in to Portland and everything we have to offer! Hope you come back often to visit. Best of luck this season!

  15. Channing, this is my first time on your blog so I’m not as familiar with your tastes and what you’ve seen but here are a couple good ones:

City of God- My favorite movie! Historical backdrop of the favelas (slums) outside Rio de Janiero in the 60s and 70s that shows the development of the favelas, gang wars, etc. with a great story (fictional) about a boy that wants to escape the slums and pursue his dream as a photographer. It’s in Portuguese with English subtitles. Think Slumdog Millionaire but grittier, a must see.

    Sci Fi:
    - Children of Men
    - V for Vendetta

Really glad to have you on the Suns! 4-0! Keep it up, man.

Too bad we can’t watch you guys in Tucson! Did you they don’t show Suns games here (other than nationally-televised games and a few on FSN Arizona, no My 45)?!

  16. Hey Channing!

I’m so happy to have you playing back in Arizona – missed you since you graduated from U of A. Congratulations on a great start to your season and look forward to getting up to Phoenix soon to watch you play in person. Welcome home and best of luck in the coming months!

  17. Sad to know we won’t be seeing you at Beerfest or judging a Red Bull Flugtag contest up here in Portland. Visit anytime and make your arrival a public announcement. Not just for a PHX vs. POR game either.

  18. Hello!

Thank you for sharing your testimony at AZ Youth Convention!

  19. Best of luck to you this season, I will be tuning in to watch some Suns games, even though I’m a devout Trailblazer! I will just call myself a Channing Frye fan so that I don’t hurt any feelings!

P.S. I totally miss your commercials during the Blazer games, especially the one with your dog when you say “carpool with your buddies” – that made me smile every time! *sigh* I hope you get to do commercials for the Suns, you were always entertaining in front of the camera! You could give G.O. some tips! : )

    Take care!!

  20. I’ve been watching you play since you played at Arizona. I think you’re a very talented athlete and I wish you much success in Phoenix. I enjoy watching you play every chance I get, which isn’t often since I’m in Louisiana. I’m watching the Suns/Blazers game right now.

  21. Hello Channing- Say hello to your mon and dad. I am happy you are out of Portland. Jono-B-Ball partner. Continue to work hard and your talent will continue to speak for itself. Spotted your Mom/ Dad in tunnel tonight begore the game. Would like to contact them.
    Lionell/Karen Harper, Cerritos, CA

  22. Congrats Channing on making the three point contest, was there ever any doubt? We really miss you up here in Portland, both as a player and in the community. Thank you so much for all your hard work fighting MS.

  23. Do you have a xbox with xbox live?

  24. Hello Channing…Keep your head up! After seeing some of the replays of what happened I, and I’m sure more than a few others, don’t think you deserved a suspension. However, after the likes of situations like the Rudy T/Kermit Washington punch and the Sprewell/P.J. choking incidents I understand the League’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ stance…

Along with the kudos I see some ‘Hater’ation directed at ‘Channing the Ballplayer’ – I know it hurts my feelings because I think you’re such a nice kid – Hope you can be thick-skinned and actually seek out the comments of these ‘haters’ – sometimes you can learn more about your game from your detractors than your fans…

  25. hey channing your a great outside shooter this is trent and im going to watch you and the suns take on the trail blazers tonight on espn. good luck to you i hope u get some threes but also good luck to portland.

  26. I’m kind of glad you left portland and went to the suns. i remember you gave me a sighned picture. i admear you. i hope that i get to play college ball when i get there. you admear you cause your really good at basketball

  27. Hey channing, Good to see you at the boulder creek game a few months back, too bad you were wearing green, not black and red :)

  28. I remember you from your U of Arizona days. You came to an event where on of the “Lost Boys of the Sudan” spoke. I remember the respect you showed.

You and Steve Kerr joining the Suns will make me a fan!

  29. Let everyone doubt you.
But I know you`ll prove yourself in the following games.

  30. Nice game last night!!! The Suns love you!!! Happy you are doing so well! Am a Blazer fan but am for the Suns in this series!!!!

Tell your fam we say hi!! We’ll have to get together sometime!!! i bought a house in our old heatherbrook neighborhood so im still around the old hood. Take care brother

    Tim Carty

  32. Channing,

Congratulations on the Suns’ playoff run this past season. Although, I am Lakers fan, I have always supported you as a player. I was happy that you kept your head up even through the tough spots during the playoffs and you hit some big shots. I am sure you will have more successful seasons back in AZ and will be a vital cog in the team’s progress. I will be in the studio audience on Thursday here in Hawaii and I am looking forward to meeting you. It’s great that you conduct the camps in our town for the youth, but I hope that you, Coach Olson and Al get to enjoy your time too!

    Aloha,
    Darin

  33. if you are going to have a club team that represents your name maybe you should go see them play at least one game? give them some support on the court a little goes along way. Some is better than none and right know you are falling real short.

  34. Helen, the point of inviting all the teams and the public out to the Friday night opening ceremony was so I could welcome all the kids and see them at one time in a fun environment and not distract the tight schedule during competition. Not only did I have to fly out of town to get back to my pregnant wife who I hadn’t seen for days, but if I’d stopped in over the weekend, I’d only see a few teams at a time and everyone else would feel left out. It’s hard to try to please everyone, but I got to see all my teams Friday and for those players who didn’t show up or couldn’t make it, I’ll be seeing them throughout the year, so I think they’re alright.

  35. I was refering more to the last year than this weekend. Not trying to give you hard time(well maybe a little) just wanted to give you a little different perspective. Right or wrong.
