im backkkkkkkkk
I'm coming back home. It feels great to know that I'm coming back to Phx and that I'm staying for a while. It has been the best year of my life and I cannot wait to not only continue growing on and off the court personally, but to get more involved in the community. These past couple weeks have been awesome between my camp in Hawaii and the 1st annual Cfrye tourney. I am extremely excited for this upcoming year and where we can go with our team. Speaking of this up n coming year I know the whole Lebron thing has been talked about and put on every station 7864278624768 times but i am curious to see what my readers think, if you had the chance to leave and play with two off your best friends which happen to be 2 outta the top ten players in the league would you have done it the way he did?
Oh and for your viewing pleasure sports bloopers to lighten the mood.

Nice to have you back in PHX! As for Lebron, the guy is an arrogant dickhole. I don’t begrudge for going to Miami but I and pretty much everyone else except his mom didn’t appreciate his act. What kind of prick decides he needs a 1 hour ESPN special to announce to the world what team he will grace with his presence? Doesn’t help your league’s image one iota.

WELCOME BACK!!!!
as for the Lebron situation he did what was best for himself. The only thing that I did not agree with was that he announced it on national telivision. I personally beleive that since it was such a huge deal for everyone especially for Cleavland, he should have been humble and had some respect to not announce his decision that way. I do think that all of this crap talking about him is childish and needs to end, after all he was a FREE AGENT. But enough of that. Phoenix is so happy your home! What do you think about this “GREAT” AZ heat? lol
July 15th, 2010 - 09:46
Cuz,
Lebron was FREE AGENT. Apparently he felt he wasn’t gonna win a Chamipionship in Cleveland. Perhaps the “pot” was swetend with Wade & Bosh, I don’t know. He made the decision that HE thought was best for HIM and his loved ones. I guess that would be the bottom line. BBall is a business and it appears to me that he made a business decision.
Can’t say I agree with the gamesmanship he exhibited in making an hour long special on ESPN.
I think you will learn alot from Turkoglu and I personally wish Amare had stayed with you guys.
Peace
Cuz Pete

So glad to hear you’re returning, Channing.
As far as the Lebron situation goes, he had an obligation to his home town and fans to make a speedier decision than he did. He left his team and fans high and dry and in a bad spot to try and lure other talent there via free agency. I don’t care if he decided to play in Miami, that’s his choice. I take issue in the manner with which he chose to do so. As an average guy who doesn’t have much expendable income, I probably put too much of what I do have into my sports teams. This being said, it’s easy to feel betrayed when you’ve put so much of what little income you have towards a team and a player just to have them upend you like he did.

Mr. Frye, it’s good to have you back. With the new additions this year, I think this Suns team will be really fun to watch!
I think LeBron will ultimately regret this decision. I know he was getting antsy seeing Kobe up there with another ring, but really, winning with this Heat team will tarnish his reputation. It’s Wade’s team. Period.
Watching that hour-long ESPN special was excruciating because in that hour, we saw the fall of one of the greats. It isn’t business. If it were business, he’d sign max, long term deals without having to worry about another superstar requiring financial comprises on his end. He’s doing it for the sake of his legacy and ironically, a win like this would only sully it.
July 16th, 2010 - 15:01
Frye, so happy to have you back in an orange jersey.
Regarding Lebron: Uuuuuhhhhhh….well, I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same thing if I were in his shoes. It’s a once in a lifetime thing to be on a team with Bosh and Wade. But I’m not a basketball player, let alone an NBA athlete, so I’m sure that there’s more to take into consideration.
I’m not sure what else James could have done in Cleveland. It’s a matter of asking what you think you can bring to the Cavs franchise anymore than what you’ve already brought. I don’t think it’s a matter of betrayal, because the responsibility to bring a title to that little city isn’t solely on his shoulders; it’s a team effort, and if they can’t make it work with the best player in the NBA after…how many years was he there? Four or five? It’s just time to move on. Clearly something was still missing, and the organization wasn’t making the right decisions to help all the pieces fit.
That’s all I can really say from a bird’s eye view of the matter; I know very little of the insider going-on’s in the team.
But come on, now, we gotta talk about our boys first and foremost. How about this newly created Suns team we got here! Man, if I didn’t ever see one of the most interesting mash up of talent in the league…so much depth. And, apparently, Sarver isn’t even done! I can’t wait to see more of Childress and Turk. Sounds like Hedo didn’t have a lot of fun in Toronto, but if your Suns team has anything going for it, it’s chemistry and team basketball. Pretty hard not to love it here, I suspect.
July 16th, 2010 - 15:02
I’m glad you’re back Channing, you were an integral piece to the team last year and will continue to be for the years to come, you bring a unique set of skills and I’m glad you’re with the Suns.
As for LeBron, I think my respect for him dropped, the long, dragged out process was unnecessary. His decision was for him to make, but the way he did it was just the wrong way, it reeked of hubris and I wish he quietly announced it at a news conference with his new team. I can’t blame him for joining Bosh and Wade, but I thought he was a competitor, and a real competitor would’ve done it on his own team, instead he is trying to put on easy mode to win a ring. I also feel for the people of Cleveland, they feel betrayed, he was their son, born and raised in Ohio and he leaves them, and it isn’t like the front office there didn’t try to put a team around him, they won numerous playoff and regular season games. I felt slightly betrayed with Amar’e left, but he gave the team the TPE as a gesture of kindness, LeBron just felt merciless towards Cleveland.

Welcome home, Channing.
Lebron who?
I don’t care – as long as I get to watch my Suns. Glad you’re back, and locked in – now we have to sign Dudley, Lopez, and Dragic long term.
Take it hard to the hole, CF.
July 16th, 2010 - 16:38
Welcome back Channing I had no idea you blogged until reading about it on brightsideofthesun, but as far as lebron goes he made the right decision as far as wanting to win championships but the way he announced it was very narcissistic and it bothered me when he started talking in third person. Also whatever kind of legacy he wanted to leave on the game isn’t gonna happen. It’s gonna be up to you bench guys if we wanna beat the heat this year tho , GO SUNS!
July 16th, 2010 - 18:57
Welcome back…
Lebron did what was best for him. Not his community, not his family. That is how it is in the world at large, lots of people are me first.
But Lebron needs Wade and he is smart enough to know it. He needs Wade because he just doesn’t know who to win in the clutch. Wade does. So, if he wanted any rings, he needed a winner.
July 16th, 2010 - 19:47
Good to have you back! I think last year barely touched your potential, so I am really looking forward to see what you can do. Especially on defense!
With Lebron, I don’t have any problem with him choosing to go to Miami with Wade and Bosh, but I do have a problem with how he did it. It was all ego and no class and Cleveland deserved better than what amounted to a break-up on television in front of millions.
July 16th, 2010 - 21:11
Can’t be the King without a ring, but why be the spouse in Wade’s house?
July 17th, 2010 - 10:24
Welcome back! Our city needs more people with class.
There’s no hating on a man for wanting to be part of a champion’s dynasty – but how he did it it puts him out of the league of Jordan, Magic, Bird, and even Kobe.
With that said, in the end, championships are what the history books remember – if they go on to live up to the hype, I’m sure they’ll be looked upon in the same light as the above players. But the key word is ‘they.’ It won’t be Lebron’s team, it’ll be something he was merely part of. But if they do get there, and have a blast doing so, and roll with the chemistry the suns have, I doubt he’ll lose any sleep over it.
In everything I’ve ever pursued in a competitive nature, the fun and best memories weren’t from being on the top of the hill – it was the challenge of getting there with like minded people and the elation of reaching the top. I feel like he just jumped past that hurdle for the easy way out.

Hello Channing !!!
I would do the same as Lebron… He wants to win… So be it…
Thank you for coming back !
We were counting on you !!!
I wish you a very good season…better than last year… and we are going to make the Finals against The Heat.
July 18th, 2010 - 16:35
Channing,
Glad to have you back, as for Lebron, he has the right to go wherever he chooses, however, the manner in which he did it was terribly low-class. He should have been a man and told the organization he was leaving instead of having a idiotic special dedicated to his decision. Incredibly poor taste, especially if he already knew he wanted to go to Miami well beforehand.
Anyways, I am really looking for good things from the Suns, this year. I am going to miss STAT a lot, but I am looking for Rolo, Goran, Dudz, JRich, and you to step up your game. Childress and Hedo should definitely bring some things to the table. I will be looking forward to another deep run in the playoffs.
July 19th, 2010 - 15:37
Welcome Back Channing. Woooweee your agent squeezed Sarver for some serious cheddar. Congrats on that, drinks on you…forever! Bring back that turnaround baseline J this season and go to the hoop more to draw the fouls. Gonna have to mix it up with Amare gone. Not a secret anymore that C-Frizzle can hit the thrizzle.
As far as Lebron I just gotta laugh at the backlash. The media circus got played like clowns that they are. As far as fans being angry they seem to fall into 2 categories: 1) “Lebron didn’t choose my team” 2) “Lebron is not the manifestation that Nike has created and therefore I am disappointed.”
Concerning your question, if I was as good as Lebron at hoops I would want to BEAT my friends who were also insane ballers. That’s what the best competitors always want and that’s what fans want. Remember that epic battle of Lebron and D-wade last season? Be friends in the off season.
This Heat situation sets a bad precedence for the NBA. How many other teams are now going to tank entire seasons just to go after FA’s now?
August 9th, 2010 - 10:46
Glad to have you Back!
As for Lebron….he could have done things differently so there wouldn’t have been so much controversy, BUT he was a free agent, and he chose to go to another team…so what.
