My blog

This blog was brought to my attention:

Check it out here.

I appreciate the love and understand throughout these playoffs people may not like me anymore but I can't make everyone happy. I play for the Suns. The Suns gave me the chance I've always asked for and I'm going to do whatever it takes to win and to help my team to get better everyday.

But on the side, this blog is a great outlet that can show the me outside of basketball. Thanks to everyone for reading and to those who have stayed supportive.

  1. Don’t worry. Those of us still in Portland will begin to love you again in a week or so. We’ll prove it when you come back here after your Suns season is cut short by the Blazers in the next few nights. :)

  2. Keep on kicking ass Channing ( and yes, I’m a blazers fan)

  3. Hey – I am also a Blazers fan who reads this blog (just added you to my Reader, actually). I do enjoy it and thought that guy’s assessment was right on. Although I’m nervous about tonight I will definitely keep reading no matter what the outcome (although I think JustinS might have the right idea :) ).

  4. I’m a Blazers fan through and through, and I don’t get the hate. Sure, you’re on another team now (that I’m apparently supposed to see as “the enemy”) but I’m glad you’ve had as awesome of a year as you had.

Keep on being yourself, that’s why people think you’re awesome, and ignore all the naysayers. You rule! :)

  5. That blog is actually how I found your blog, Channing. I’m a lifetime Suns fan (Planet Orange, represent!), and I’m having a great time watching you and the rest of the Suns do so well this season. Big fan of yours, please keep up the great work! (and shoot the ball more often, you’re open a lot! :P )

Great blog, I also have added it to my Google reader.

  6. you will always be Mr.Portland and fans should understand the NBA is a business!

  7. Channing, no worries here. I’m not a suns fan, but a Channing Fry fan!! (And BLAZERS) Love your blog, just wish you could do more of it. When you come back this summer, come out to the coast. Newport has some great eats.

  8. Here’s the reality, Channing. Blazers fans are a little, you know, intense. I doubt I’m telling you something you don’t already know.

But what we also love and respect is the fact that you have made Portland your town. You’ve become one of us. I mean come on – Noble Rot reviews? Taking Grant Hill to a vegan bakery? Badass. We still dig you, except for those short bursts of time when you’re in the Rose Garden wearing that ridiculous purple/orange/gray combo.

  9. Channing you have been doing great this year in the play-offs. I see you getting better and better. Can’t wait to see how the rest of the playoff play out for you and the Suns. Work hard at work and enjoy your family with your time away from the game. Enjoy the simple thing that make you happy. From Seattle the Town With No Team. G-Luck

  10. Channing, Portland still luvs ya. I have to say that although I’m beyond disappointed that we didn’t win last night, you have rocked this series, congrats on that for sure! And big congrats on the baby, so exciting :)

  11. No worries Channing, I still support you, even though you were a bit harsh on LaMarcus in a post-game interview – but other than that no harm done, umm except ending Blazer season. Good luck with the rest of the playoffs, and the Suns are very lucky to have you! Beat the Spurs!

  12. i apperciate you playing for the team. GO SUNS!

  13. Hey Channing- you will always remain a favorite regardless of which team you are playing on. Glad you are having a good year (even if I would rather the great games were against other teams than the Blazers..) and wish you the best. I love that your blog gives insight into more than just basketball!

  14. The lack of class was suprising to me, Channing. You are always more than welcome to come to PDX anytime! W

  15. A lot of us in New York recognized what kind of person you are and were truly sorry when you were traded. I’m still rooting for you and I’m enjoying your success this year.

  16. I’m with the other Portland fans here, Channing. I’m thrilled to see your success in PHX and hope you go all the way. When you played here I always called you The Mayor because you were such a great fit for our city. Take it to the Spurs and maybe I’ll see you in the offseason.

  17. Channing !!! big time phoenix suns fan here from boston lol and youre def one of my favorite players. I tell all my friends your a beast from the 3pt line and i even made a bet with my friend during the 3pt contest…he picked pierce to go farther and i said you’d go farther but id put money on you all day! Your game has improved so much and i see your playing great Defense against Duncan and the Spurs. Keep doing what your doing man and lets get this ring!

  18. Hi Channing, I was a barber, a few years back & I used to cut your grandmother’s hair in Brooklyn, NY until she move to Arizona with you. I just wanted to know how she is doing. She is such a sweet lady. Very spry. She walks fast!

  19. Great to see you in the Western Finals Channing. My friends and I in Portland are rooting for you. No bad blood, only the love of beating the Lakers.

  20. I am an avowed Blazer fan and even more voracious lover of the city of Portland. We miss you here, but are thrilled you’re doing so well. If it can’t be us to take down the L*kers, it should be you and your Suns. Beat LA for all the underdogs out there!

  21. Hi, Channing, I am your fan in Tokyo, Japan.

Congratulations to advancing to the WCF, and you being a big part of it. Your 3pt shots are smooth as anyone I’ve seen, with less motion and quick release.

    Against the Lakers in WCF,
I really think you are the key man.

Because you are such a key player in the series, Lakers might put Artest on you ( he was good against Durant ), but I hope you will overcome anyway, and shine in the series. I wish you the best.

  22. Channing, I just wanted to let you know that because of you I have become a HUGE suns fan! I live in DC and my boyfriend is originally from Phoenix…so of course we were watching every game from the beginning. When I started following the suns you were an instant favorite… having a blog only makes you that much better.
Keep up the awesome skills and don’t let the lakers intimidate you!

  23. Channing. I know this probably doesn’t mean a whole lot coming from a fan (who quite honestly sucks at basketball) haha! I watched your interviews coming into Game 2 and I was really anxious for the game. I know you’ve been having trouble dropping the 3 against the Lakers (and I’m sure you’ve heard this a million times… I don’t know why I’m telling you as well), but don’t lose confidence in yourself. I’ve seen you on good days and bad days, so I know you’ve got it in you. Don’t overthink anything… just let the ball drop. I know that’s a lot easier said than done.. Like I said I’m terrible at ballin’ but I just don’t want you to lose confidence in yourself, especially feeling like your fans are disappointed in you. (Idk if you think that) But I’m not.

Anyways heck if I know if this will help at all. But I had a feeling to leave it anyway:)
Leave it all out on the court big guy. You got this! Home court now, and I know you’re much more comfortable with your 3 there. Show everyone what you’re made of! Best of luck!!!

  24. Ditto…

  25. Is there some kind of response thing from Channing on here?
I want to be able to know if you’ve actually had the chance to read what I had to say. Especially before Game 3 :)

  26. Channing, I believe in you.

  27. Hey Channing, been trying to catch you before game time, but haven’t been able to. Just want to let you know, like I told you at the crackerjax event before the season started, I’m glad that your here and a part of this Suns team! You have a sweet stroke for a big man! Don’t lose that confidence that you’ve had. Keep putting up those 3 balls, they will start to fall! Don’t hesitate when you have the open shot! You’re a great player going through a cold spot, but you’re gonna heat up quick!!! Good Luck, and BEAT L.A.

  28. That’s the way to do it Channing! Way to catch fire and make those Lakers pay!! :)

  29. Cuz;

Great Game four of the WCF. I knew it was just a matter of time before you found your confidence/stroke again.

2 down, 2 to go and you guys definately have the capabilities of handing the Lakers a real spankin’. Don’t knw when I’ve seen a bench as strong as the individuals you have. Keep it up.

    Peace
