What’s going on in town?

Hey, I was curious what kinda festivals, etc. are going on in Phoenix or Portland. I like to keep up on stuff like that just in case I get an extra day off or my friends or readers are bored one day. Let me know what's going on.

You got a little concert? Let us know what kind of music. Your reading poetry...where is it? You have a car club, what parking lot? I'll roll the “BLACK PEARL” and see how if I can cruise too.

So people, let me know I'm interested. I know Portland always has something going on - rain, sleet or snow - what's going on in Phoenix?

  1. Channing,
We have Gender Connect tomorrow night (Friday) @ 8:00, that is going to be huge here in the city of Portland.

    It’s a shame you can’t make it,

    Scott Mitchell
    I Am Audi

P.S. Did you see Benjamins new Monitor?

  2. We are gunna get crunk! We will call you Channing!

  3. Channing, you know you can get at me for a MusicfestNW wristband. Sept. 9 – 12 in good ol’ PDX. Of course, when you’re a dad you don’t get to listen to music anymore. Maybe The Wiggles. Congrats!

  4. We don’t want you here in Portland. I use to be a fan of you but it seems like Ama’re, Richardson, and Dudleys thug attitudes have rubbed off on you. Must be pretty easy to be over confident of your average game when you have Steve Nash running the show. I know its the playoffs but hold your self to a higher standard than the rest of your teammates. Come on.

  5. whoa, kyle. i have to say i don’t know anyone that shares that same sentiment. everyone i know in pdx is really happy for channing … what is a ‘thug’ attitude, anyways? what actions proved frye guilty of thuggery? anonymity is a dangerous thing. why would you make unjustifiable accusations toward someone on their blog that you wouldn’t say to his/her face?… serious amateur hour, dood.

  6. I would repeat everything that I said to his face. Unfortunately I don’t have the ability to sit down and talk to Channing so I reached out to him through his blog. Were you at game 4? I was, and I was sitting close enough to clearly see facial expressions and physical play that were very “amateur.” You may recall he received a flagrant foul? If Channing and the rest of the Suns weren’t dirty the Blazers would not have got in so many altercations. I can say that the other 20,000 fans in the Rose Garden shared that same “sentiment” and expressed it through their boos. But hey cj, if you want to suck up to Frye through his blog go ahead. All I was saying is that his “nice guy” image is taking a hit by following in the footsteps of the rest of his teammates.

  7. Hey Kyle, just wanted you to know that flagrant was rescinded by the league because there obviously was no thuggery involved. Also, what has Dudley or Richardson also done to deserve the label ? I hope Richardson is not just a thug for taking it to your home team, though he may drive a little drunk/thugly in Phoenix sometimes.

Keep it up Channing. I hope I can let you know of a festival in late June when the yall are bringing home a championship to Phoenix.

  8. I agree with Kyle entirely. Anyone who saw that play saw Channing hit Batum’s weak arm hard. He did nothing to apologize, either. Channing likes Portland, and that’s great, we like Portland and we like Channing. But if he plays that rough in game six, he can’t expect quick service from the waitstaff at all the restaurants he visits. That might be immature of us, but we have a sore-spot for our team, and a sore spot for Batum’s sore shoulder.
Channing, no rough stuff. You’re not Amari; that guy’s a jerk and a punk. You’re a nice guy, and the age of Rasheed Wallace basketball is over. No one wants to see more flagrants and technicals on either side. We just want to see good basketball.

    -B.

  9. Let’s get these posts back on topic – Here’s an event – the “2010 Dirdy Birdy” Portland’s muddiest 5k race June 18th at PIR, should be pretty funny – http://web.mac.com/oregonactive/iWeb/Site%2049/Home.html

  10. There’s the Humane Society’s “Doggie Dash” May 15th where all of the bridges are closed down, everyone brings their dogs, and there is fun and games to benefit the Oregon Humane Society. Great cause and great fun. We miss you here in Portland but congrats on playing great for the Suns.

  11. First Friday in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona is always lots of Fun. http://www.artlinkphoenix.com/
