Movie recommendations wanted

Well guys, I've seen almost every movie so I'd like to see what y'all want me to watch. I won't watch two types of movies: chick flicks and boring films. By boring I mean no good plot, bad character development, etc, etc., you know. I love Kung Fu, action, sci-fi, good dramas... cool?

Give me some movies and I'll either rent 'em, buy 'em bootleg 'em (no I won't, piracy is bad) but I'll figure out a way to watch it. Let me know.

great diverse blog you have going here. so many different subjects to choose from.

  2. Sunshine by danny boyle — the movie and soundtrack are incredible.

after you watch it, watch tarantino’s critique and see if you agree.

  3. Since you like kung-fu action movies you just might love some of the movies Jackie Chan made in Hong Kong, especially the first three Police Story films (if you haven’t already seen them). Quentin Tarantino loves them.

As for a fun sci-fi film, I can recommend Frequently Asked Questions about Time Travel, a really funny British sci-fi comedy.

  4. -Life is Beautiful. It’s Italian and so great. It’s not action but it’s a great, great story. Roberto Begnini is a fantastic director.
-Shattered- Gerard Butler and Pierce Brosnen. It’s entertaining.
    - Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood… need I say more?
-Mr. Brooks. So good. It’s a thriller.. and incredibly deep. One of those root for the bad guy to win sort of movies.
-Rear Window – Hitchcock. Brilliant. James Stewart and Grace Kelley. It’s great.
    -Chinatown.

  5. Check out KING RAT from 1965. About POW’s in Japanese camp. The sea and the jungle kept the prisoners at bay, but surviving is the story here.
