I’ll be cheering for you when you come back to Portland. Unless, of course, you start really burning us. Glad you could land in a good system. Good luck.
We’ll miss you here in Portland and wish you all the best! We’ll be rooting for your success and hope you’ll come back to Portland whether it’s on the court or in the broadcasting booth.
Channing! My dad just called me and told me about you playing for the Phoenix Suns! I’m so excited for you… shoot me an email when you get a chance. You’ll always just be the kid that used to sit next to me & make fun of me in Biology class… good times… holly@azpetservices.com
Hey man, have a great time!! I’m really happy for you…don’t get too caught up in the Amare ego though…I’ve heard it’s pretty suffocating. Now, go kiss your momma and sleep in your old bed for a few nights. Don’t be a stranger to P-town either, you know we’re your home away from home!
Yay!! Congratulations Channing!! You will do amazingly in Arizona, I know it!! Still sad to see you go, who will I get Portland restaurant recommendations from?
I watched you destroy my beloved Brophy Broncos and never thought I’d say how happy I am to have you headed back to the AZ. Now you can keep blogging about the best local joints. The 602 has changed since you left bro, it’s getting better all the time:
Lola Coffee, Le Grand Orange, Los Reyes de La Torta etc. you’ll like being home.
Channing,
I am so sorry to see you go. I am glad you landed with a good team, but i was so hopeful you would still be a Blazer. You will be missed. Do well, stay healthy and make the Blazers pay big time if they want you back in a year or so.
Welcome back dude!!!
I hope they give you more playin time with suns so you could tear it up!!!
I’m excited with our team this year.. tell lamar odom to jump ship and grind it out with us!!! Go PHX!!!
What a great twist of events. You’re totally loved here, and now you get to go back home. You make fate look effortless. Good job here and good luck there. Get ready for the screaming and shouting when you come back through the Rose Garden in Purple and Orange.
Channing welcome back home ! We have been routing and praying for you since you left SM, and your successes at the U, and on thru the the Pro’s. And now to be with the SUNS ! They have yet to realize the impact you will have on the upcoming season ! Man, are we proud of you !

GO KNIGHTS ! and GO CHANNING… AND THE SUNS !
you’re going to need to airlift some rain in we’ll miss ya dude. You’ll always get a large ovation when you come to town. Peace love and chicken grease. And grats on the wedding!!!!! you’re the best NBA to media/fans relations guy ever.
Wow! what a great MOVE! Phoenix made a WINNING MOVE. You should really do will with that style of basketball. A Great player on and off the court! I’m now a PHOENIX/FRYE Fan!
Good Luck!
I was bummed to see my fav team didn’t bring you back, but I was really excited to see my second fav pick you up. I hope you enjoy the Suns, I know they will enjoy you and your game.
We are soooooo excited to have you back in PHOENIX! Can’t wait to see you play with the SUNS!! When can we get YOUR jersey?? We (PHOENIX) have been waiting for you to come back and play ball. WELCOME HOME! So glad that you left PORTLAND! The town is talking…
You have alot of FANS IN PHOENIX!
Good luck in Phoenix, Channing. Portland will miss you. You’re always welcome here. Come on back during the off-season … PDX sun is better than Phoenix sun … in the summer, anyhow.
I’m glad to see a happy ending on this saga for you. You’ve always been the epitomy of “class” in a sometimes classless league, so it’s great to see you going from one city that loves you to another with the same feeling.
Dear Channing: You were so charming as to talk with me at the Fan Appreciation Party this spring. Our meeting solidified my enthusiasm for you, as we we discussed your mother’s Phoenix art gallery and also our mutual reactions to “do you want fries/fryes with that?” which you said had been pelted at you since 2nd grade. All these blog comments are testimony to the fine impression you made during your too-short stay in Portland–the team star in the ways that count in a serious world. As one of your much-older fans, I was apprehensive that things would end as they have for your Portland career, but I’m sure your return home will be joyful. Your “Suns” fans are already pretty giddy that you’re back with them. It will be exciting to see you at the Rose Garden this coming year: you’ll be vigorously welcomed back by the PDX locals, as you can probably tell already.
All good wishes in your career and of course in your forthcoming marriage. Ellin Johnson
Well Frye, Why so many folks admire you is that we all see thru the business aspect of the game. We want to see you on the court. Alot of folks really like the way you play when given the opportunity. And now you have the opportunity, can’t wait until you get back to those double, doubles, your fans know that you can, now show the rest. Finally, I don’t know of any NBA Player that has received as much LOVE as you did WHEN leaving a TEAM! Could you image if that crazy Portland Coach actually let you play for more than a second. Well, it’s their lost, were excited to have you back in the VALLEY! The Suns did a great job in getting you BACK! Now lets play some ball!
Portland just got a tad dimmer with loosing you in this city. Wishing you the best of luck with your new team (for all games but those against Portland). I will be cheering for you when you come back to visit. Stay classy Mr. Frye and please don’t be a stranger.
