SYOY (See You On Yelp)
Guys, where have I been? I always ask about the hot spots and all types of new places but I have finally figured it out and my restaurant woes are no more. It is free. It is easy. And I am on so you get on too.
YELP.com is the best thing ever. Any review or any type of information you need to know about the hot local spots in a city, all you have to do is type in the area code and “bam” there it is. Guys, get on! I'm on and we're gonna link my homepage so that you can not only see the reviews on my website but on my YELP page.
I had a great conversation with Don from Yelp. Click here to check out part of our chat on the weekly issue or this one goes to the full interview on their national blog.

Great interview Channing! I am glad you are Yelping now and I look forward to your reviews. I won’t post my Yelp reviews link on your site, but if you are interested, I go by Roy C. on Yelp.

Channing, you rule. Thanks for taking the time to do the interview!

Finally! Channing, I did a talk thread on Yelp a while back saying how we needed you on Portland Yelp! So glad the day has come! Can’t wait to read some reviews!!
April 7th, 2009 - 11:13
Welcome to yelp! Glad you have seen the light!

Ahaha! That’s awesome! I get those Yelp updates in my Inbox all the time, but when I got the “Channing Frye Yelps!” one, I thought it was spam or something. Great interview. I followed a link from that Interview to leave a comment here on your blog.

Channing,
I heard you yesterday on the local sports talk radio show, and I heard that you were looking for a good taqueria….Well, I have some favorites to share with you, and I also own a taqueria called “¿Por Que No Taqueria?” (porquenotacos.com) that I’m certainly partial to. You should definitely check my place out, and also check these out: At the giant intersection of Cully, Prescott & 60th there is a little cart called “Tacos de Uruapan” that has some of the best salsa on the planet. There is a taqueria at the back of a bakery/store called “Panaderia del Santa Cruz” in St. Johns that is delicious. Some of the best Mexican food is way up on NE 162nd and Glisan…way out there, but it’s increidible…It’s at the back of a store on the north side of the street there…can’t ever remember the name, but the ladies there can cook!
Hope to see you at ¿Por Que No?!!!!
Cheers,
Bryan

Nice interview! Best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had is at King Burrito up in North Portland – bacon, eggs, potato, cheese… and onions too.

And that last poster is right – the Santa Cruz up in St. John’s is amazing.

Great interview Channing. As far as breakfast burritos go I have to offer up the breakfast burrito at Muchas Gracias, it is packed full of bacon egg cheese and potatoes. It is great.
April 9th, 2009 - 10:55
El Loco serves a solid burrito at 82nd just south of NE Fremont…can’t speak to their breakfast offering tho.
Muchas Gracias does a decent burrito as does Urapan (82nd just south of SE Foster)… Unfortunately, Portland burritos just don’t compare to San Diego…they’re just krazy good down there…
Glad to see you found Pok Pok and Toro Bravo…I figured it was only a matter of time…

You should try Cafe Du Berry down on Macadam. Good French food without the snootiness. Their french toast is the best in the world!

I love Yelp! If you’re ever interested in checking out more vegan restaurants in Portland, here’s my vegan Yelping. http://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=8bV2L4bPuUZYmx8z_2Yiww

Happy Easter Channing, and everyone in the Internet world!!!

Hey channing definitely liking the new hair man.
Looking fresh.
Great job against OKC tonight. I’m watching the encore as we speak (I had to work at 7).
But in terms of the question below about improving Portland, end homelessness. And get public school systems better paid for.
That’s all I got.
See you at the playoffs buddy.

Channing thanks for turning me on to YELPING! I’ve been YELPING each time we decide to go to dinner. Not sure what it stands for. But I would talk a guest, instead of Yelling for Help, when trying to find a great restaurant, I just find myself YELPING! It’s great having you in Portland, no other player is as community minded as you are, much appreciated.

Hey Channing, where can I pick up on of your “computer coded” inspired shirts? I must have one. Maybe you could sell them here on your site?
