Hi Channing,

Along the lines of hidden gems in NBA towns you have to check out...the next time you're in Detroit, you should go Featherbowling at the Cadieux Cafe. It's pretty much the only place you can do it in North America, and it's a blast! It's one of the things I miss the most about my hometown now that Portland's home. Google it, and go, and I guarantee that you and anyone you take along will have a great time - from teammates to elderly aunts!

Just don't leave Portland for New Orleans. I know it would be fun to play with CP3, but he is no Roy.

New Orleans is an American treasure and I'd say easily in the top 3 US cities (with NYC & SF). You should go over and visit the lower 9th ward to see if anything at all has been done to clean it up. I went 6 months after Katrina and it was a ghost town. Much of the city was a ghost town, in fact. As long as you're there, you should also drive over to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to check it out. it was also utterly devastated; Most of it looked like Fallujah after US forces bombed the city. I'd never seen anything like it and it went on for more than 100 miles. It was my 2nd time there (first time was in 2000) and it was totally unrecognizable.

You should also go check out the bayous, which are pretty cool. There are alligators and everything. My girlfriend and I actually stayed in a cabin one night that basically fronted an alligator pond and you could feed the alligators from the front porch. It was a cabin at sort of an alligator farm and I'm pretty sure it's designed more for kids, but I thought it was fun.

The area around Tulane University is beautiful. There is so much to see & do there...

Man I love it down there :-)

Hey Channing,
I've heard good things about N.O. too.
The culture and history is for sure.
I hope you enjoy that trip man.
You see me at the Wizards game by the way? I was the cat in the spider-man costume up in rip city rows!
They threw me up on the jumbotron a few times,
Hahaha, anywho man, take care of yourself and good luck tonight down in LA!
