  1. Sweet. Good work Channing! My dream of dreams is to see two former Wildcats hook each other up for a transition 3. Keep it up…

  2. Hi Channing,

I always thought that you should go the route of the 3 pointer.
You are a perfect fit with this team. Never let them trade you.
LOL Seriously, don’t go anywhere. Enjoy the summer!

  3. Sweet dude. With the Big O in the middle there will definitely be more opportunities for you to float outside- ‘Sheed style. You been watching Rudy at all? He looks solid man. Constantly moving. Oden, Rudy and Bayless added to the team? Crazy!

  4. are you 6″11? If I was 6″11 I would be down low in the paint dunking on peoples heads!! forget the 3 pointer!!

  5. Keep shooting, those 3’s. I hope they finally get you in the right position this year, playing the PF position, so you need to keep working on shooting from all ranges! How many PF can shoot the 3!! That’s the Question??

  6. Channing – listened to 95.5 The Game last night and they were discussing playing time (how there isn’t enough) and specifically you – what position, how much time, etc. My question is this – is it crazy to ask the starters to accept a slight cut in minutes, maybe play 30-35 minutes so that there is more playing time to go around and also no one player gets run down before playoffs. I know playing time has always been such a BIG deal, but with this talent – we could have 2 A units, so why not treat it as such. This team doesn’t seem to have any divas who demand 40 minutes a game or whatever the magic number is. I know in baseball a pitcher may make more money for throwing 200 innings, but is that the case with any of the Blazers (more money for more minutes?)

  7. I say: Any additional scoring threat from any of the players is a good thing! If all goes well, we’ll have at least 3 scoring threats on the floor at all times. That’s a conservative figure. Regarding Jamie’s post about minutes: Hopefully, WINNING will keep at bay any negative vibes about lack of time for any one player. I’m not sure if I’ve ever been this impatient for basketball season to start. This should be one of the most stacked teams in the West. The potential combinations of players we could put on the floor at any time seems scary. For instance: I know Joel isn’t considered a “scorer”, BUT having him relieve Greg is going to wear down the opponent. We don’t NEED Joel to score other than put backs and foul shots (which he improved greatly…I think Monty Williams helped with that. Could be wrong on that). Then there’s the possibility of having Aldridge, Channing AND Greg on the floor at the same time. All 3 around 7 feet AND they can run. I don’t know how often Nate would do that, but it seems that could cause some matchup problems for other teams (depending on personnel). So, I’m going to get back to work on my time machine so I can fast forward to the start of the season…..

  8. It is great to see you out there casting the 3 ball. Speaking of casting. We missed you this summer at our annual MSFA(Midwest Salmon Fishers Association)Conference in Naperville IL. Your attendance in the past has been one of the highlights of our Conference. We hope to see you back in those giant waders sometimes soon. We have even dubbed you the 7 foot Salmon Assasin.

  9. Channing,

I saw you at the fan fest on friday night before the game and I think at halftime. You were wanting the ball to put up some threes.

You were standing almost FLATFOOTED by the bench and effortlessly putting the ball in from 3 point range!! I was watching you wishing I could see you in action that night.

I figured it would give us a good shot at watching Ike get alot of minutes at the fanfest.I know it’s early and Ike hasn’t had much time with his new team but I found myself wishing we could of seen Josh McRoberts for 20 minutes instead of what we saw from Ike! After the fan fest I couldn’t wait to imagine our 2nd unit with Jerryd, Rudy, Travis, Channing and Joel!!! Holy smokes what an awesome second unit…none better than this in the whole league. I can’t wait to see you back on the court putting up you sweet 15-19 footers that you were stroking last year and your new arsenal at the 3pt line.

You may not get all the headlines but you will definatly be one of the major reasons that the Blazers will at some point be almost UNSTOPABLE!!

Keep up the hard work my friend, we are pulling for you and the talent that you bring to this already talented team.

    God Bless you my friend,

    Sean
