They also kill any number of perfect strangers without thinking about it. Like the Joker, or the dude from No Country. What made Heath Ledger's Joker so freaky is.... he didn't care about money or anything esle, just wreaking havoc. So, you couldn't negotiate with him, really. Pretty effective bad guy.
