HANCOCK

Maybe the best movie of the summer. Will Smith, you have outdone yourself.

Seriously, this might be his best movie ever since Independence Day. I don’t know what the critics say, but I could care less. Hancock was HILARIOUS, INTERESTING, ACTION-PACKED, and it definitely kept your attention throughout the whole movie.

I went in there expecting to be disappointed and came out like a little girl with a brand new my little pony. It was that good. I would almost be blasphemous by saying it's better than Iron Man but I don't know. I'm gonna let it soak in. I saw it last night and I'm writing this blog entry this morning and I'm still excited about how good that movie was. I didn’t know what was gonna happen and if that happens I can def say it was a good movie.

  1. Hancock def was not the best movie of the summer. it was entertaining but thats about it. Wall-e is by far and away the best movie so far this summer (and the year) only to be topped by the dark knight later this month.

  2. Man, you’re gunna get some serious hate for this post. NACHOveli is pretty much right, Wall-E is ridiculous and The Dark Knight is gunna be filthy. Hancock was just too much.

  3. Dude I agree partially. I went in there with really low expectations after hearing all the reviews and the movie was truly awesome. It was touching, and Smith’s acting could not be outdone. However, it is an unfortunate summer for Hancock because of Iron Man and Dark Knight, they stole the show from an amazing movie.

  4. Cool, I will have to check Hancock out when I get a chance. Thanks for the tip.

  5. Gonna have to disagree with you Frye!! Yes it was funny, yes it was action packed, and yes Will Smith did use his up his only F-bomb in the first 15 min… BUT the movie lacked something that the best movie of the summer must have…. A PLOT!! This movie had a weak plot and a weaker sub-plot. I was entertained and i am a WIll Smith fan but i expected better. Hancock is an action hero-watered down PG-13 Bad Boyz summer movie idea….

Hulk was way better than this- Norton is the man! I have not seen Iron Man yet but its on my list.. I respect that you enjoyed the movie but the best movie of the summer has to have more depth than Hancock had to offer.

The movie of summer 2008 = Black Knight

  6. Channin,
(if i may call you “Channin”.)
i never trust the critics. i do trust you. why? i don’t know. so thanks! i also have just started trusting NACHOveli(NACHOveli? come on, that name makes anyone trustworthy). so two movies i haven’t seen yet(Hancock & Wall-e) and one i have seen(Airplane2) are tied for best movie of the summer!
    all the best,
    drew

  7. Hmmm…I saw Hancock today. I thought it was fun, summer entertainment. Will did a good job, as usual; as did Jason Bateman & the sickening beautiful Charlize. The major plot twist was fun. The ending though? It almost killed it for me. How lame was that??

  8. i haven’t seen it yet. will smith makes me too hot for the theatre.

  9. Hancock was entertaining and somewhat touching, but overall will finish up in the middle of the pack summer-movie wise.

Both Iron Man and Hulk were better, and I suspect like others that Dark Knight will kick it’s bootie as well.

I personally didn’t like the twist, thought developing Hancock’s caracter would have been more entertaining. It would have been nice to develop a true arch-enemy – villan while he was in the pokie as well.

Solid overall, just lacking. W-Smith is the man.

Channing, when are we going to get an exclusive Q&A with Jerryd Bayless? U got the hook up, treat your faithful!

  10. 1. Hancock was good. Not great, not horrible. Just good.
    2. What kind of nickname is Channin?

  11. Haven’t seen it yet – but one local critic said the Hancock character had a lot of similarities to one Kobe Bryant. Those who have seen it – discuss.

    Said review is here:

  12. The movie was looking great, it was moving so smoothly and I laid back with a great big grin on my face. Then it was over! I look at my watch and wow; not even 90 minutes. I love the twists and the humor but some things were confusing and it was just too short. It some what felt like “I AM LEGEND” being how quickly everything went.Overall I would have loved another 15 minutes. JUST 15 minutes!

  13. damn i cant believe i saw this movie ,im embarrassed to say i sat thru it.

  14. Hancock was definitely a fantastic movie. It had some great action scenes and it also had a wonderful story line. In the end I couldn’t stop smiling, the transformation Hancock made was sweet… Maybe it’s just a girl thing?
Now I don’t know if I would say that it was better than Iron Man. Iron Man really is an amazing movie. I would however say Hancock is in the same league as Iron Man!

  15. HANCOCK was a GREAT movie. I loved it. I think it is one of the best movies this summer. Will Smith is a great actor he always outdoes himself, love him. Just can’t wait to see the new Batman next.

  16. Bruh.. are you KIDDING? That movie was horrible! Perhaps your being satirical – like saying Emmitt Smith and Keyshawn Johnson added a lot to the ESPN pre-game football show. Lord knows I couldn’t wait to see Emmitt articulate every Sunday morning. Right? (wink wink)

  17. come on hancock was a good movie up until they intorduced his old wife, whats a crappy plot, they didnt develop wills character at all, i had no interest in charlize therons character, i wanted to no more about hancock, they should have made it just him not charlize, but it was entertaining, as for a good movie to see Dark Knight rocks. <—-period

  18. Hancock was a good movie. I like it! =)))
