Yup, Careful Before You Bet

Well if ya’ll haven’t noticed yet, yes I cut my hair. My head feels weird. My ears feel exposed but a bet is a bet. Darn you Eli Manning and especially darn you Giants defense. I have to say it was a great game. Extremely entertaining but a terrible outcome.

For me, I think through it all I’ve learned two lessons:

#1 - Do like the real bettors do. If I ever decide to bet on something again I’ll get the inside information, get the inside scoop.

#2 – Don’t make bets on top of bets because you think that your team is gonna win. Long story short, I made a bet to cut my hair with my parents on the Patriots cause I was so over confident in Tom Brady and Randy Moss and my fellow U of A alumni, Teddy Bruschi.

I made another bet with Greg Oden, who was equally growing his hair out to almost cave man proportions – LOL. So I bet him whoever cuts their hair first has to walk the other person’s dog. I don’t know what made me make that bet, but oh well, it makes for a great story. Still, I’m really mad that I have to walk his little rat dog, Charles Barkley McLovin’. I don’t even know what kinda dog it is but I don’t even like walking my dogs let alone a little lap dog. But hey, a bet is a bet and it’s the last bet that I’ll make…I think…

  1. LOL. Hey it’s all good especially since most of team got their hair cut short. At least it doesn’t stand out. Sounds like the worst part was walking Mclovin lol.

  2. Did you at least cut some kind of design on your scalp? An arrow would look cool! Or maybe a big smiley face!

  3. thats sad that you cut your hair, i liked the little fro you had going on, and i was sure that the patriots were going to go all the way. oh and it surprises me that Greg Oden has a lap dog.

  4. You know, what you called “cave man proportions” I read somewhere referred to as a “John Legend-esque fro”. I’d actually be willing to bet Oden would prefer the John Legend comparison. What do you want to put on it?

But really, if you’re going to make a hair bet, I’d love to see it be more like the loser cuts his hair like a young Uncle Cliffy.

  5. Greg Oden’s dog is seriously named after Charles Barkley?

Wow. I’m not sure what to do with this information. :)

  6. Aww man, I totally dug your little ‘fro and am bummed to see it gone. Yeah, Greg’s hair is getting really fantastic!

I just discovered your blog tonight and am thrilled; you’re one of my favorite Blazers to follow! Keep up the great work this season!

  7. Hey now, be nice to CB McLovin!

  8. you got a picture of oden’s dog?

  9. Channing, #1 is the best point you made.

And there is no better place for you to get all the information you need to give the utmost confidence in placing your bet(s) than http://pregame.com.

Good luck tonight against the Rockets. As a betting man, you guys are only 5-16 against the spread in your 21 Monday games. Help me out big fella!

  10. Wanna bet that you bet on something again?

  11. The next bet you two make, the loser has to cut his hair like one of the guys from WWF’s Legion of Doom lol.

    Just an idea….

  12. Hey Channing- sorry you had to cut your hair for a bet- I’m wondering if Greg Oden’s new cut is related to a bet also? Go Blazers

  13. One rule to live by is never bet on your own team. Being a fan clouds your judgment. I would never bet on a blazer game because I think they’re going to win all of them.
